Portraits, Books, and Films
Queen Elizabeth I was celebrated in art during her lifetime and after her death. Today, she has been the theme of many films and books. Most notably in recent years, she was played by Cate Blanchett in the 1998 film Elizabeth which explores Elizabeth's early years as queen. Blanchett started filming Elizabeth: The Golden Age in 2006.
